# Reporter staking

In order to operate a reporter account, a particular amount of HAPI tokens must be staked. The amount depends on reporter's role. Here are current amounts:

| Role      | Amount, HAPI |
| --------- | ------------ |
| Authority | 100          |
| Publisher | 1            |
| Tracer    | 500          |
| Validator | 100          |

These amounts can be changed by community through a governance proposal submitted through [the governance portal](https://gov.hapi.one/).
